Julie Myers

Julie Myers is a native of Washington, D.C. and brings twenty-three years of legal experience to The Cohen Law Firm, P.C.  After receiving her Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Tech, she attended the University of Baltimore School of Law. There, she participated in the University’s Civil Law Clinic, representing low-income clients in inner city Baltimore, and in a summer abroad program at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland. After graduation, Ms. Myers served as a judicial law clerk in the Circuit Court for Howard County, Maryland.

Julie Myers spent ten years of her legal career as a civil litigator in the Baltimore/Washington, D.C. area, practicing employment law and general civil law. She practiced in both Maryland state and federal courts, and was admitted to the United States Supreme Court Bar in 2005. In addition to her litigation practice, Ms. Myers served as a court-appointed mediator in the Maryland courts.

In 2007, Ms. Myers relocated to Colorado, and has practiced law here ever since. She has practiced in the areas of civil litigation, contracts, business, estate planning, and probate. In 2010, she was recognized by the Colorado Supreme Court for outstanding pro bono service. More recently, Ms. Myers worked as an administrative law judge for the State of Colorado, as a private practice attorney for a civil litigation firm, and as a solo practitioner concentrating in contracts, small business planning, estate planning and probate.

Outside of work, Ms. Myers served as president of a Rotary Club, as a local hospice board member, as a Girl Scout leader, and as a Junior Achievement educator. In addition, she spent two years coaching Girls on the Run, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping preteen girls gain confidence through fun, fitness, and teamwork.

Ms. Myers is a lifelong artist and especially enjoys watercolor painting, pen-and-ink drawing, and ceramics. She spends her free time with her husband and two college kids, reading, hiking, or traveling the world.
